For Those Who Don’t Know About Coachella Music Festival
Over this past weekend, arguably the greatest music festival in the good ‘ol U.S. of A. just completed it’s first of two jam packed weekends (Wu-Tang Clan, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Blur, and Violent Femmes to name a few) and most people had no idea. I guess what I’m trying to say is one word – Coachella.
The Coachella Music Festival is a converging of the hottest music, art, and vendors at Empire Polo Club in Indio, California for (since 2012) two weekends in April where more culture, talent, fashion, and all-around awesomeness can be seen on multiple stages and with nothing but a collective thirst for a good time from all those attending to make this an incredible experience.

Coachella is about two hours drive East of Los Angeles in what some call the desert. Making it super convenient for celebs and thrill seekers alike to make the trek for the festival. This outstanding event is in it’s 14th year, starting in 1999 with acts such as Beck, Tool, and The Chemical just three months after Woodstock ’99. Which if you remember correctly, it didn’t end well. So there was definitely some hesitation about festival atmospheres.
After a few years of the festival gaining momentum and continued popularity, Coachella has become one the world’s most anticipated festival events for music, art, fashion, and fun.

It wasn’t until 2012 when Coachella expanded to two weekends and in 2013 there’s so many acts there’s barely enough minutes in the day to get them all in. Acts in 2013 include Phoenix, Yea Yea Yeas, Bassnectar, Social Distortion, Vampire Weekend, The Lumineers, and literally a ton more that you can see here.
As for attending this year, you’re out of luck. The first and second weekend sold out in the first 24hrs. So, maybe next year. In the meantime, you can find videos of Coachella 2013 performances and interviews on their Youtube page.
