BulletStorm – February 2011 Game of the Month

Hi again and welcome back to another exciting edition of hiLounge.com’s Game of the Month. February’s GotM is Epic Games Bulletstorm, a First-Person Shooter that rewards players that “kill with skill”. Remember how in the Tony Hawk games if you did the same trick multiple times in a row the player received less points than the time before? Well apply the same idea to eliminating enemies in a first person shooter and you’ve got Bulletstorm. The amount of fun each player has playing Bulletstorm will depend highly on the amount of creativity that player has. For example would you just walk in and shoot every one like you would in every other FPS out there, will you kick that explosive barrel at the enemies and shoot it, causing a massive explosion, or would you rather use your thumper to send them all skyrocketing into the air, waiting to be leashed down only to be kicked into the air once more? The choice is yours in Bulletstorm and the possibilities are endless. Story: In Bulletstorm, you play as Grayson Hunt, a space pirate living in the 26th Century who is betrayed by his commanding officer General Serrano and subsequently dishonorably discharged from Dead Echo, the elite Black Ops army that protects the planets under Confederation control. The game takes place 10 years after the events mentioned above on the planet Stygia after an alcohol fueled scheme to exact revenge on the traitorous General and his forces goes horribly wrong, sending you crash landing onto the surface of the planet.
